A Few of My Favorite Things: Beauty Products

Don't hate me (you'll hate me) but this is pretty much all I use for a normal beauty routine.  Just thought I'd share a few of my favorite products.  You can find # 1, 2 and 4 at Sephora.  #3 is at drug stores everywhere and #5 is in hair salons and probably Ulta.  #6 you can find at most grocery stores (Trader Joe's!) and #7 you can buy at Kiehl's stores (MOA) or Nordstrom and Macy's.

1. Benefit "Fake Up" Concealer
For real.  This is the best under-eye concealer ever.  I'm a little biased because I never used a concealer before this but I started because the bags under my eyes were driving me nuts.  This is creamy and soft and pats onto my face so smoothly.  It comes in 3 shades and I use the light because I am so pale.  It definitely brightens my face and doesn't make me look so tired.

2. Soap & Glory "Flake Away" Body Polish
I have always had bumps on my arms that I couldn't figure out how to get rid of.  Trudy actually turned me on to this stuff.  Its an exfoliator that says it will make your scaly legs less reptilian but I've been using it on my arms and it is a miracle worker.  Because it was in the shower at my parents' house, my mom and sister starting using it too and they are having the same amazing effects.  It has a nice scent too that carries throughout the day after I use it in the shower.  If I could use it on my face, I would (but I think its too course for that).

3. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
Duh.  Gotta have my Burt's Bees.  I have like 4 versions (honey, pomegranate, grapefruit, sun screen...) but the classic is my favorite.

4. Benefit "They're Real!" Mascara
I love trying new mascara.  I'm really picky about the brush style and size.  I got a sample of this, probably from Sephora, and ended up buying a full tube because its so great.  It is not waterproof but it seems like it and it makes my lashes look awesome.  Plus you can apparently use it horizontally and vertically but I don't totally understand what that means or how to do that.

5. Redken "Outshine 01"Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk
This is the hair product I use the most.  It makes my hair soft and light and not so frizzy.  Of course its good because its Redken, right?

6. Coconut Oil
I use this to shave.  It makes me smell like a coconut macaroon (only while I'm in the shower though, which I guess is good).  I am concerned that one of these days I am going to slip in the shower because it is slippery but so far so good.  It works wonders and smells great.

7. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
I bought this 1.7 fl oz jar like 2 years ago and I'm barely halfway through it.  All it takes is a dip in with my finger and I have enough for my face after I shower.  It isn't greasy and it doesn't smell.  It has never made me break out (like other moisturizers have in the past) and it is made by a pretty awesome company.  I love it.

Look forward to more "Favorite Things" posts in the future!  This was the first one I thought of when I was staring at my medicine cabinet the other day and thinking about how much I love my "Fake Up".  Ha.
